H Street Festival is September 17

From the 2008 Festival
The 11th Annual H Street Festival will be held on Saturday September 17. The fest begins at noon and continues until 7 PM. The few times I've been have always been a blast and I always thought it was more chill and more consumable than the Adams Morgan Day, which I tried to attend every year. Anyway, here's how the organizers describe this years H Street Festival!
The 2016 H Street Festival will take place on Saturday, Sept. 17 from noon – 7 p.m. This year’s event will span 10 blocks of H Street NE with 14 staging areas, dozens of interactive attractions and displays and over 250 businesses, restaurants, community organizations and vendors. Join us for great entertainment, food, drinks, contests, family-friendly activities and more!
Organized by H Street Main Street, the annual event highlights the unique spirit of the H Street NE Corridor and is one of the most popular in the D.C. region. It’s been named the best community Festival by The Washington City Paper for the last six years and regularly attracts a crowd of over 125,000 fun-seekers.  (link: https://www.facebook.com/notes/h-street-festival/announcing-the-2016-h-street-festivalthe-best-one-yet/1298457176861536)
The festival runs 10 blocks along H St NE, from 4th St to 14th. Activities (full list here) will include: PokemonGo Zones (aka Life Comes at You Fast Zones), karaoke stage at 9th and H, fashion show stage at 12th and H NE, kids zone with building activities at 5th and H, and a super hero costume contest at 12th and H. I haven't been to this festival in 5 or 6 years, so I look forward to walking down and hanging out all day with you lovely folks!

Side note: DC Streetcar will start Sunday service the next day, September 18! Due to the nature of the festival, service will be suspended on the 17th, though.

Side note #2: After a controversial year off, it looks like the Adams Morgan Day fest is back for 2016.
